Interesting the redwing and mistle thrush have turned up again after a week or so. Seems to be when its windy...... or more likely the day after the pitches were used.
Morning walk around Hardy Farm was very quiet. Only exception was a bird we don't see very often on the Ees;
Grey Partridge (1) - flushed from the NE corner of the new fenced training pitch area and flew to scrub outside the SW corner
PS; great spotted woodpeckers have been drumming this week on the sunnier days. 1 woodcock at dusk last week on Hardy farm. 1 Greylag over at dusk last week flew over cow field.

An hour walk around the ees while wife and son napped. Been long over due.
Absolutely beautiful. The colours are muted but fallen leaves and bleached out grasses make for stunning views. Even nearly got sort of nearly lost in a scrub patch between the brook and the playing fields with a couple of rusted out car wrecks.
Lovely male kestrel at hardy farm

Great, blue and Long tailed Tits
Ring Necked Parakeets in a couple of separate locations.
Usual other suspects
New's years resolution. Get down there more.
Found out this week that Long Tailed Tit in Spanish is Mito. Might start using that as it's a lot shorted to say and type.
Gervase, the waxwing(s) was heard flying overhead on the Chorltonville estate on Sunday. I think that was the same report that was posted on Birdguides on Monday. There are a few berry trees around the estate which I keep checking but with no joy so far. Similarly no waxwings showing on the meadows for me. Chris

Pretty certain heard a grasshopper warbler on Ivy Green. Today 6.30. Might have seen him but was too far away to be sure. Can anyone confirm?
Not 100% sure where Ivy green itself is but a few (3 or 4) there were several Grasshopper Warblers on the meadow next to the reed pond. That isn't a confirmation I'm afraid but I wouldn't be surprised at all. I've been waiting for them to reappear. An RSPB warden friend says they can move territories from year to year. Also the flash burning of the meadow won't have helped.
Could you give a better idea of where it was?
They were at Kenworthy for a while too. Not sure if still there now though.
1 sedge warbler showing really well and another heard calling but didnt go and look for it with the views i was getting. 2 buzzards 11 swift 1 whitethroat heard in the orchard 1 pied wagtail 1 grey wagtail along river flock of hirundine over river but didn't count what was in it but definiatley had house martins, sand martins and swallows in it
