What an utterly ridiculous waste of £10 million

The WBC announcement is Culcheth access improvement scheme | warrington.gov.uk

The route is E along the old railway, then S to the service station

I'm guessing the money comes from the Warrington Service Station construction as a token environmental compensation - WBC itself is extremely short of money thanks to former Govt spending cuts, so hopefully WBC has better things to spend our money on

Nice to know the environmental compensation is used for yet more worthless construction, leading to more building

In winter, no-one will use the route for commuting as it'll be dark - unless of course they're planning to light it up

At all times it's rather remote, so women (well, everyone really) will consider it a risk not worth taking

It's twice the distance between Culcheth and Birchwood, so what's the point?

There's no connection for cyclists/pedestrians from M62/J11 to Birchwood, so they'll have to use the high-speed link road (more dangerous than A574) - though crossing the roundabout may be where the money is being spent

Rather unclear what happens when cyclists & pedestrians meet high-speed traffic joining/exiting the M62 at J11

As JT says, it's another excuse to join up Warrington and Culcheth, which currently manages to remain isolated. No-one in Culcheth will want to be physically connected to Warrington

A once brilliant site being totally ruined by stupid planning, once the MSS was given the go ahead 

It's been a rapid decline of the site ,that new cycleway totally wrecks another price

Of woodland and shrub habitat. What's the bet the rest of the Arable land north

Of the MSS will be houses in 10 years? Put your money on it.

10 million for a sub 1km cycle path down the east end Silver Lane Pools.....to help people from Culcheth that want to get to Birchwood Technology Park get to an M62 Roundabout with a backwards connection to Gorse Covert or a walk / cycle along a 50mph dual Carriageway?

By the time you have left Culcheth to get onto this walk / cycleway you've already done half the A road between the two (which I remember wasn't great on a bike in the 1990s and probably isn't any better now) the world really has gone mad.
