Sad news this week, as Wigan-based birder Jimmy Meadows passed away after illness. Formerly a major user of this forum he had been less active in the past few years, in part due to failing eyesight. A true gent and one of those people who seemed to know most people in his home town. He played an active role with the Wigan RSPB group and will be missed greatly by all who knew him. At least he will be immortalised among the fantastic caricatures put together in 2009 by Ian in the Manky Birders article (how was it sixteen years ago?!?)..
