Just for the record though the incident had no relevance to Waxwings and there was no serious injury, though there was certainly the potential to be.

Good advice John. By the way on one Whatsapp group I'm on I saw a warning about an attack on a birder in Greater Manchester at a Waxwing site where the birder was very badly injured. Does anyone know if this was true? It sounded awful and I feel so sorry for the victim if true.

Im hearing of plenty stolen cameras recently , so please be vigilant, I notice a lot of people going for waxwings in some urban areas that you wouldn't normally be seen in , and remember how much that camera is worth around your neck . Just be careful out there, you would be surprised were cameras get stolen from . Always be vigilant of situations that just don't feel right , its not worth getting injured or worse for the sake of a picture.
