I wondered if anyone might know if the bird is still present?
Unfortunately, the closest rescue centre, Greenmount Wild Bird Hospital, is temporarily closed but they are directing anyone looking for help to the Help Wildlife website. When I searched there for the next-closest rescue centres, it appears that two in Warrington might be able to help: Wild Wings (07957 416883/07719 717197) and Raptor Rescue (0870 241 0609). Looking at Raptor Rescue's website, I think they might be able to arrange for someone to collect the bird from the site - but Wild Wings might also do this.
Hope this helps. I only wish I could do something myself but I unfortunately don't drive.
As far as I'm aware, the bird was never collected by the RSPCA. They informed my friend that they wouldn't go out to get it unless he was with the bird in person and unfortunately, he was not able to return to the site.
I've just been sent information and images regarding a Buzzard near to the Islington Mill in Salford - this bird I'm told has an injured wing - pics taken from very close proximity.
If anybody is in a position to help with this bird's rehabilitation, please could you get in touch and I will pass on more info.
Customer of mine came in yesterday with photos of the Buzzard. He had reported it to the RSPCA who had told him they had sent someone out.
