- Cettis Warbler still present but was singing at the far end towards Nelstrop Rd path. It did make its way round past the fishermen and through the shrubbery where it was yesterday, but it didnt stop long and kept moving round towards the far end again.
Wont be long before it crosses Barlow Rd Z bends and into Highfield CP.
- Cettis Warbler now moved slightly west to Secret Lake, heard only, close up but not seen. Last few days I have suspected it was getting a bit adventurous as I heard it sing near the tarmac cycle paths but it always came back to behind the works yard.
Good to see John Raynor, thanks for the info update.

- Thought I heard a Lesser Whitethroat early this morning, but I couldnt be sure. I came back from Liverpool and went for a walk with the Merlin app recording. Well it picked up Lesser Whitethroat, but Im still not 100% convinced its the bellowing of LW, I think it could be same bird from this morning (Blackcap or Robin) using mimicry. Or even a natural overlap in song variation and frequency.
- Cettis Warbler showed a few times in the afternoon.

Im stood there looking for the Cettis when I suddenly felt a pair of eyes watching me, I turned round and theres a Chiffchaff sat in the bushes looking at me, then it started preening for a around 10 seconds then moved to the top of the bush and started singing. The 1st w Caspian did a disappearing act at Redgate so I decided to have a mooch around the wetland area behind our Reddish works yard.

Weds 29th Oct Having a job done on my car so I couldnt nip out to Redgate on my dinner, I explored behind the works depot, Reddish.
- Cettis Warbler mustve been in the mood as it was very vocal indeed, a burst of song every 30 seconds or so. Decent bins view every so often but trying to get a photo was impossible, it was mainly moving through the low scrub at the side of the marsh then in the bushes near the cycle track.
Also of note.. - 1 Meadow Pipit over (certainly sounded like one) - 2 Lesser Redpoll over - 1 Redwing over - 5 Ring-necked Parakeets over
