RE: Bridgewater canal Stretford (Trafford Park ).

Several Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler heard along the canal.

Lovely singing male Blackcap allowed a close watch on the path between canal and Barton Dock Road.

From Chester rd.bridge to Old Barton rd (adjacent Barton rd. swing bridge ).
House sparrows with juveniles all along the canal.
Grey Wagtail - 5 (2 ad + 1 juvenile near Kelloggs , another 2 ad. further along ).
Footpath to Barton dock rd. near Bridgegate way -
Chiffchaff - 3 (2 ad. .... one with silver ring on right leg plus a juvenile ).
and 2 more further along the canal.
Sparrowhawk - 1 over .
Blackbird - 10.
Long-tail tit - c10 Inc. 3-4 young .
Mistle Thrush - 1.
Old Barton rd. -
Sparrowhawk - 1 ( mobbed by swallows ).
Chifchaff - 3 heard.
Willow Warbler - 2 heard .
Swallow - lots .
Kingfisher . - 3 seen together (Salford side of MSCanal) on a dead branch with a white container stuck in it.
Looks like 2 adult and a juvenile , the two larger birds were fishing and returning to it but I didn't see it fed.
Seen from the concrete jetty opposite the church / graveyard.
Note - this area is totally wild all the way to the M60 Barton flyover eg. tall grasses, lots of bramble, hawthorn etc. looks like it could be a "New Pomona " . Ps. someone watched this area the past and posted on GM birders but I've read nowt for years .

Oystercatcher - 1 heard as I left.
