Apart from the usual Kingfisher, Cormorant and 3 Snipe, there were 2 singing Willow Tits and 2 singing Coal Tits. Also 70+ Tufted Ducks, 8 Teal, 5 Coot, 10+ Moorhen and a Grey Heron. Plenty of the other usuals.
Juv. female Scaup still present. The sunny day seemed to inspire a singing Willow Tit and 1 other seen. 2 Raven over and 2 Snipe around the Pool. 80+ Tufted Duck, 3 Teal and a Little Grebe on the Pool. etc.etc.etc.
Hobby 1 juv. over north edge of reserve. Kingfisher 1 male. Sparrowhawk 1 seen in direction of Danewell Wood. Buzzard 5 over moss. Swallow 10+ Goldcrest 1 Chiffchaff 2 singing plus 4 others. Little Grebe 3 adults, 2 juvs. Black-headed Gull 100+ and 2 non-flying juvs. Lesser Black-backed Gull 7 juvs. Great Spotted Woodpecker 1 juv. Gadwall 7 etc.etc.etc.
1 Mediterranean Gull adult flew around this afternoon then departed in an easterly direction. Also 8 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and 2 Herring Gulls flying around for a while.
Other highlights:
Bullfinch 3 males. Reed Warbler 1 giving good views. Coot 8 adults plus 8juvs. Moorhen 5 adults plus 2juvs. Gadwall 1 well-into eclipse male and a female. etc.etc.etc.
90% frozen, so no Tufted Ducks. Ringed Plover 1 seen flying around adjoining industrial site. Lapwing 30+ over, of which 20 settled for a while. Great Spotted Woodpecker 1m. Lesser Black-backed Gull 1 Common Gull 1 Black-headed Gull 12 Stock Dove 1 calling. Redwing 2 Little Grebe 1 Coot 7 Moorhen 6 Mallard 16 Teal 7 Shoveler 15 Gadwall 1m 1f. Buzzard 1 etc.
Water Rail 1 seen, for a change. Raven 1 seen on Carrington Moss pylon. Willow Tit 2 Common Snipe 1 Common Gull 1...alright not a highlight but fairly uncommon here. Shoveler 15+ Tufted Duck 45+ Gadwall 4 Teal 5+
