Phil , presumably you hadnt heard that Chris Roberts had traced the ringed Mute Swan when it first appeared a few weeks ago. It was ringed as a cygnet just outside Nantwich
A big increase, with 6 singing Willow Warblers, plus 4 Blackcaps and 2 Chiffchaffs. 10+ Stock Doves and a singing Goldcrest. On the water 5 Little Grebe, 2 pairs of Teal, a pair of Gadwall, 6 Coot, 6 Moorhen, 35+ Tufted Ducks and 250+ Black-headed Gulls. etc.
2 singing Chiffchaffs plus 1 other seen. 6 Siskin flying quickly, low over the reserve, heading North. 280+ Black-headed Gulls. 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers. 1 singing Goldcrest plus 1 female. 4 Little Grebes. etc.
Apart from the usual Kingfisher, Cormorant and 3 Snipe, there were 2 singing Willow Tits and 2 singing Coal Tits. Also 70+ Tufted Ducks, 8 Teal, 5 Coot, 10+ Moorhen and a Grey Heron. Plenty of the other usuals.
Juv. female Scaup still present. The sunny day seemed to inspire a singing Willow Tit and 1 other seen. 2 Raven over and 2 Snipe around the Pool. 80+ Tufted Duck, 3 Teal and a Little Grebe on the Pool. etc.etc.etc.
