Focussed mainly on the East side of the reservoir, which has some nice pockets of mature woodland, and a reputation for attracting Pied Flycatchers, although none were seen today.
A local birder advised me to return in about a week. There's certainly enough nestboxes, although some look like Great Spotted Woodpeckers have used power tools to gain access to.
Common garden birds in abundance plus 2 Bullfinches, 4 Blackcaps and 1 Buzzard. Willow Warblers and Chiffchaffs singing despite hail and sleet showers.
One warbler in particular caught my eye, as it looked like a typical Wood Warbler with a lemon throat extending down onto the breast, but then a pure white underside.
The bird was doing fly catching sorties from a large oak, I waited for the fellow to sing or just make some noise, but sadly it did'nt.
1 Common Sandpiper on the shoreline, whilst 4 Great Crested Grebes, 6 Tufted Ducks and 4 Greylag Geese were on the reservoir.
A dozen Swallows and a couple of Sand Martins were picking insects off the water.
