Llyn Celyn

The moorland on the Southern side held 2prs of Stonechat, displaying Buzzards, plus a Raven in aerial combat with a pair of Carrion Crows.
1 Garden Warbler by the lake side picnic area.
2 prs of Wheatears and a pr of Redstarts carrying food by the old quarry.
Along the old railway track heading towards Cwm Prysor, another pair of redstarts carrying food and a Tree Pipit singing from a hillside Rowan.
A pile of rotting beet here, possibly dumped months ago for the sheep to feed on, attracted Chaffinches and a pair of Pied Wagtails.
3 Grey Wagtails by the small river, Buzzards and Ravens displaying high above the conifer forest.
All afternoon there was a steady passage of Lesser Black Backed & Herring Gulls heading towards Trawsfynydd, amongst them a single Great Black Back.
I checked every boulder and patch of scree on the hillsides to the South of Llyn Celyn looking for ouzels, and found only a single pair of Blackbirds amongst the rocks.

The drier areas of moorland produced a couple of Small Heath butterflies. Marsh Orchids by the old railway track.
