The body is very similar to the Kowa 880 series design, I would hesitate to say it but could have a very heavy degree of influence from those scopes. The finish, body type is similar to those with a thin rubber outer skin on it, without being obviously thickly rubber armoured like older fashioned type designs. The build quality is excellent, I don't think the makers could charge a 'middle-market price' of around £800 if it wasn't such good quality in both build & optics.
I would say that it is definitely worth a look at and punches well above it's weight for the price tag. It is at a funny price point in the optics market - one that not many folk consider. We get asked for stuff up to £500-ish and then customers tend to go straight up above £1500. But with this scope maybe a new option has appeared & folk could save a bit of money with the option of a good scope, decent bins and a tripod all for the same price as one of the top european brand scopes

Had a look at the Helios Fieldmaster ED 82 Triplet Scope on Monday, it comes as standard with a 20-60x zoom eyepiece and a carry case. I was blown away by the quality of the scope and very pleased that it was usable right up to the 60x mag on the zoom. The carry case can be used like a stay on case (you have to see it to see what I mean!!). Other eyepieces will be available i the future such as 30x wide angle, they all have a locking pin to keep them secure. The image is bright as would be expected with an 82mm objective and ED glass. The scope weighs under 2kg complete (same as Leica APO 82) so is not too cumbersome.
This arrived in stock yesterday and is here at the Focalpoint showroom to look through. All this at under £800, in my opinion this is a superb option if you are at this pricepoint
