The couple of photos of the single bird show a Dunlin. The other wader feeding behind the Grey Plover in a couple of your photos is a Knot. Hope this is of interest to you. Thanks to Ian for your correspondence also. Cheers
Hi Mike, I hope you don't mind and it is a little late, I was browsing out of county threads and your Flickr photos as you asked, I agree with John Brookes, Grey Plover for me (incl juv). I hope it's not just me but I think there maybe possibly 2 other species on your photos. The bill appears too long for Grey (or Golden) Plover and the plumage seems to be different than that of the juv Plover in your other photos. There are also 2 photos where the same bird is in a slightly squat position and quite possibly has an ever so slight curvature of the bill which could indicate another species. I could be wrong and end up wiping egg off my chin, but that was my initial thoughts. What do you reckon?
Visited the above area on the 04-06-13 and saw a group of 5 x Grey or Golden Plover feeding, which from the photos looked like 1 x adult & 4 x juveniles could anyone help me identify these as the pictures are not great, I think they are Grey Plover, but someone with more experience than me would be able to confirm this, the photos can be viewed at http://www.flickr.com/photos/mwait/
