This is a site south side of Robinhoods Bay.
Difficult trek down to the sea 600 feet down very precarious and strong winds. Check tides if visiting and take precautions of togs etc.
Birds Oystercatchers, Turnstones, Skylarks, Knott, Sanderlings, lesser black backed Gulls in limited numbers and the reason for the visit Grey Seals small colony and stay away from the sea shore to avoid disturbing a breeding colony. This has led to abandonment in other areas over time as seals do not like human disturbance. So staying in cover on higher ground overlooking them gave fantastic views of about 30 seals with pups. One male looked as if it had been in the wars , one small white pup hiding in the rocks, mum with another pup clearly adoring each other in the open each and giving great photos, other cows with pups and lots of others bobbing about on the rocks and quite eerie calls from the seals. There has been some possible persecution of these in the past here as some think they conflict with other interests. They also don't appear to have the protection of other colonies on the west coast such as at Walney Island. That said one of my best days out watching wildlife ever.
