Marple (other wildlife)

Probably my first ever leafcutter bee seen entering a hole in the masonary of Marple aqueduct (with a segment of leaf). Always gives one a lift seeing something new.

Wednesday p.m.

White-letter hairstreak visible on ash tree (next to an elm) from Marple Aqueduct almost at eye level (about 10 meters distance - good binoculars (and eyes) needed). If you want to see this species, this is the best, and most reliable site in the area. Even a chance of purple hairstreak, but the oaks are a little bit further away from the bridge. If you see nothing, well the view is terrific from 100 feet above the river.
