During a bike ride along the Bridgewater canal near the bridge that leads to Vicars hall gardens (west of Boothstown) I disturbed a female Goosander that made a hasty retreat to the undergrowth on the opposite banking.
Closest thread to put this, a peregrine falcon flew low over whilst driving down leigh road near booths hall way & heading towards the marina area at 12.40pm.
Jay 2 Sparrowhawk Buzzard 2 Grey Heron Steady streem of Swallows 43 and House Martin 21 over heading West 2 mixed Tit flocks containing Long tailed 12 & 8, Coal 1, Blue & Great Tit many Both contained Willow Warbler and Chiffchaff, with a good number of fresh plummeted Juvinile Willow Warblers
A tern flew west along the canal at c 2:30 pm. I only picked it up after it had flown past so my view was limited to get a positive ID of Common or Arctic. Felt more like the latter. Walked from the Marina to Astley Green. Not much else noteworthy. Chris
