Stubbers Green - Walsall

Decided to make a late morning trip down to Stubbers Green.

My target bird was Caspian Gull (a glaring omission from my life list despite several attempts!) and the possibility of seeing the Azorean Yellow-legged Gull which has been around, gave me a good reason to make the trip

On arrival, I bumped into Mike Baron who was in the area and after a few minutes of scanning the Gulls present on the bank, we soon located a good candidate for Adult Caspian Gull and after studying all the necessary features carefully this was indeed "the bird" as confirmed by the local birders. A lifer for me.

No sign of the reported Azorean Yellow Legged Gull that has been present here and at the Chasewater roost, but I still went home down the M6 very happy to have finally seen my bogey bird!

Mike managed to get some decent shots of the bird too which I look forward to seeing.

A very worthwhile trip!
