Late morning/early afternoon

6 Redpoll were feeding at the tops of the trees, but unfortunately were in silhouette. I was unable to get a better view of these birds.

Funny about them drumming on the pylons - must be one of the Woodpecker I heard doing it a week ago downriver who has aqcquired it as habit.

Cheers

Walk through Mere clough, waterdale and back round thirteen arches. Usual woodland birds. Also 1st Blackcap of the year, Chiffchaff, Buzzard, Bullfich, Heron. Great spotted woodpecker drumming on a pylon and another answering from another pylon, never heard that before. Good sightings of Kestrels including a pair mating
