I checked the lodge by Barrow Bridge Road first & found 5 Canada Geese, 9 Mallards, 2m + 4f Goosanders, & 2 Black-headed Gulls there.
A full search of the park, including the woodland between the rock garden & Johnson Fold Housing Estate which contained most of the finches. 14 Mallards & 2 Moorhens on the car park pond. A Sparrowhawk flew over the park and landed in the woodland behind the Goosanders Woodpigeons everywhere. Estimate of about 160 adding them all together. 20+ Feral Pigeons. Some on the chimney (no sign of the Peregrine) & others spread around Barrow Bridge Road & Animal World 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker 3 Wrens 6 Robins 3 Blackbirds 1 Redwing 3 Mistle Thrushes No Long-tailed Tits seen around the park but a flock was on Forest Road 2 Coal Tits Numerous Blue Tits & Great Tits 1 Nuthatch 15 Magpies 4 Jackdaws 8 Carrion Crows 12 Starlings 8 Chaffinches 2 Greenfinches 30+ Goldfinches 3 Siskins 2 Bullfinches
Peregine on chimney ledge all the time. (11.45 to 12.35).
A new facility has opened, in the Park called ''The Hive''. Lancashire Wildlife Trust are involved. I think it's a Moth/ butterfly enclosure. Presumably bees are in there somewhere!

16:00hrs Janice & I watched a pair of Peregrine's on the usual ledge of the chimney this afternoon. Even without the scope and just watching them through our binoculars from the carpark, it looked liked a male and female
Peregrine on it's usual ledge at 9.15 this morning but facing backwards towards the chimney. Everything else very quiet: 2 Nuthatch seen here in last few days. one trilling around a Woodpecker Hole and the other making the long drawn out whistle. Water level still low in Pond with only 7 Mallard, 2 Moorhen and the Muscovy present.

Arriving today in the car park, for the morning dog walk, to be met by a Treecreeper. Climbing the nearest tree to my vehicle,3 or 4 yards away, and then called from the top of the next tree. My first in this Park

After an afternoon of not seeing very much around the Horwich and Anglezarke Moors areas, it was nice to see the Peregrine high up on the ledge around the chimney on the way home. Luckily I had my scope with me and although the light was starting to go, I got some good views of this Boltonian townie, which I'm calling Dibnah from now on.
