A Sand Martin flew over the res at 1915 into deepest Diggle, then as we were leaving the car park, a raptor was seen at some distance. As it came into view-a Hobby
Another Brun Clough phenomena......... as soon as you open the car door and stand erect........ it starts to rain. No wonder the Floating Light ceased trading if it depended on summer trade.

Must admit I had same thought on Sunday morning but then realised I have had the virus for years for these obscure venues. A glutton for punishment.
What's worse is that I used to walk to them all........................ now I get tired out going up in the car.................... pass the oxygen.

Saturday morning had quite a bit of low cloud early on which might account for a fall of migrant Wheatear. I found a few up on Saddleworth Moor in places which don't seem like ideal breeding habitat (though I'd like to be proved wrong and add a new Confirmed Breeder for the Atlas!).
Had an hours visit up to the res yesterday and walked down as far as the "old house" 2:00 - 3 ish 2 lapwings 1 kestrel mobbing the lapwing sitting on a nest Skylark Pied wagtail 4 curlew 2 mallard and just as I was leaving a buzzard being mobbed by crows.
6 Wheatear in first field below reservoir at 1000hrs, and a reasonable passage of Meadow Pipits over flying south-east. Common Buzzard over south at 1040hrs
