lots of black headed gulls feeding on village circle/village way/wharfside way on my way home from work tonight at 10.05pm. hundreds of them on the nearby roofs of Viking international & what use to be the builders centre.
since I started my shifts back in may, when I am on my 2-10 shift I have noticed the number of gulls increasing hugely, espeacialy over the last month, but they don't stay on the same roofs each night they do move around a lot, must be in the thousands now smile

on my way home from work at 12.50pm a flock off feral pigeons were being harassed by a juvenile peregrine falcon around the rank hovis on Trafford park road. I stood on elevator road getting fantastic views as it pursued the pigeons, it did not catch anything in the 20 mins I was watching, but got very close on a couple of occasions smile it soon disappeared out off view.

Good to see a flock of 25+ Greenfinch (given the current disease problems they are having) using some tall evergreens on Mercury Way as a roosting site this evening. Noted them in the vacinity a couple of times last week and tracked them down to here, so presume its a regular site.
