Whilst parked in Trafford retail park looking in the direction of beyond looking to see if any peregrines were there at 10.25am, there wasn't any peregrines, but a grey heron flew over the Trafford Centre heading in the direction of beyond but lost from view behind the trees. 10 minutes later 3 jays flew from the direction of the Trafford Centre High up & heading my way over the retail park. On leaving at 11am I then noticed a peregrine was actually sat on one of the pylons next to beyond, also 9 starlings were sat about 20 feet away from the peregrine.

I think this is the closest thread.
I was surprised to see a buzzard fly very low West over the junction of Davyhulme Road and Park Road (just South of Kelloggs) at 17:45. Local magpies did not look impressed.

On Wednesday 8th whilst on my way to work a tit flock was roaming around st Anthonys church on 11th Street, it also had 2 chiffchaff & a nuthatch. Yesterday Thursday 9th a chiffchaff was singing in the same area & again singing today also a great spotted woodpecker was calling at the top of a tall conifer.
Starlings still gathering in several locations enjoying all the berries.

A great spotted woodpecker flew directly over my place of work on Broadway as I just finished at 1pm today, also 9 Canada geese as I watched the woodpecker fly over.
There has been a gathering of starlings around Trafford park recently, they are enjoying the berries on the Rowan trees, the flocks seem to be from as little as around 50 but yesterday I watched a large flock go over my works whilst on my break, they did a murmeration as they passed over, this flock contained at least 700 birds & they headed in the direction of the Trafford centre.

6am.

Peregrine was sat on the top of one of the pillars of the new suspension bridge. Which gave me an excellent close up view of it from my van, as I drove past it within 20 feet, on the anticlockwise inside lane of the M60, Barton fly over. evileye It was sat on a different pillar at 2,15pm as I was driving home.

2 peregrines over my works on Broadway whilst on my break around 4.15pm this afternoon, they looked to be heading towards cargill so probably going to hunt the pigeons there.
Also a lapwing over guiness Road trading estate calling.

1:35pm two buzzard's and an adult female peregrine having a violent altercation above the gates to Cargill on Guinness rd. At one point the peregrine managed to bring one of the buzzard's down to about 5 feet off the ground into the middle of Guinness rd where they were both nearly hit by passing vehicles!! Luckily (with possibly me disturbing them as I was trying to film them on my phone) they let go of each other and flew away.

Post for yesterday 1st April.

Whilst on my break at work on Broadway I noticed a couple of pigeons flying past with a peregrine right behind them, they were soon out of view, within several minutes there was the peregrine with a kill flying over the building next to my works (Kerry logistics) & landing on it but out of my view. All the gulls that were around were then getting noisey & flying around. I decided to walk through my works & go out to the other car park where I could then see the peregrine plucking away, gulls still not happy.

Hi martin, I have reason to believe that this bird is one of the media city pair & possibly the female but I still could be wrong. Definitely not the media city male as he has a longer than average bill & this bird on the tower, which I have been seeing a lot of lately looks like a bigger female.
The 3rd peregrine you have seen may be this one in the photo attached which I have seen lately hanging around, a much younger bird.

The past two days Ive been working delivering all over Trafford park.

I still can't work out if the Peregrine that I see occasionally perched the Chimney is one of the BBC ones or not, yet I keep seeing 3 flying around the area. I'm sure one is a young one that keeps getting chased out of the territory.

Yesterday around the ecology park I saw 3 buzzard's high up and two kestrels displaying and squabbling with a peregrine.

Today and yesterday I've seen a large female sparrowhawk hunting around and on the addidas factory.

I was watching a flock of 200+ black-headed gulls wheeling over the Freightliner terminal when a scarlet macaw flew overhead. I suspect this might not be a Category A vagrant but it took my mind off Lockdown forcing me to dip on the cackling goose.

Peregrine falcon still continues to show on my way home from work just after 2pm whilst driving down Trafford park road monday, Tuesday & today. I paid a brief visit on sunday afternoon & got some distant photos. I do believe this now could well be one of the media city pair.
Also today a buzzard was being mobbed by 3 crows over the ecology park.

Just for the record as it's actually out of Trafford Park in Davyhulme but a Peregrine that I assume is one of these has over the weekend and also today been hunting over the Davyhulme Millennium Nature Reserve - a spectacular dive earlier saw it take a Wood Pigeon, the speed was simply breath taking
