Great effort Charles, must admit a birder making the most of his imprisonment, you are doing well. Many year back the hospital grounds had two large ponds filled with ducks etc, also a couple of ponds just off Clay lane held Reed bunting,
Opposite the Maternity unit , the fields lead across to brooks drive and a small brook used to run along side it, maybe dried up now, it was many years ago when I was a paper boy for the hospital, I did my birding there.
Slow walk around hospital grounds 6am. 7 Swallows 6 Blue Tit 6 Pied Wagtail 2 Great Tit Lots of House Sparrows,Robins,Blackbirds and the star of the show a Reed Bunting at the back of Maternity unit, why would this be in hospital grounds? No reeds or water around here.
Highlights of the day from ward window are:- Same Blackbird collecting even more worms, Same Pied Wagtail and Robin. 2 Blue Tits Dunnock and wow a Cormorant flying over Ive got a day off spotting tommorow as Im under the knife,Cant wait for Saturday to resume my place by the window.
