24th Feb: 3rd visit this week and some changes in numbers.
Great-crested Grebe 2 (The male now joined by a female. Head shaking display) Tufted Duck 1m (Down from max of 8) Pochard 1f (Had left but now returned) Coot 44 (Down from max of 65 in December) Moorhen 8 (Down from max of 26 when iced over) Mute Swan 2 (Aggressively defending territory) Goosander (1m over) Buzzard 1 Usual numbers of Mallard, Canadas and ferals
Main Lake: As Feb 3rd - with the addition of 1 male Tufted Duck and 1 female Pochard.
Bottoms Bridge: On Feb 7th forgot to mention the pair of Dippers with the male singing with bill sky-pointing Both were colour ringed. Both had lime green above metal (right leg).
One had red above white (left leg) - this is the male from New Mills, see last year's post.
The other was, I think, white above red but it moved away before I could be sure.
