Birds today included at least 13 Teal, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Little Grebe and 4 Tufted Duck on the lake, also single Redpoll and Siskin over; 11 Gadwall on flood between Low Hall and Bickershaw Lane, with 14 Pied Wagtail and 4 Meadow Pipit feeding there
Wish I had brought my binoculars with me this morning as the sun was shining right in my eyes whilst trying to view a flock of 15 ducks on the far bank. Looked like a mixed flock of Mallard and Gadwall. Also seen was: -1 Mute Swan -2 Moorhen -1 Grey Heron -2 Little Grebe -1 Lesser Black-Backed Gull -2 Black-Headed Gull
-1 Willow Tit -Several Blue and Long-Tailed Tits -4 late House Martins over south
A Little Egret was seen and a photo was taken by a collegue of mine from work as he was inspected bridges in this area on the 16/2/15 he showed me the photo today that he had taken of a white heron which turned out to be a Little Egret it was seen on the brook sorry I don't know the name of the brook opp the Old Strangeways Pub on Liverpool Rd.
That will be Borsdane Brook, downstream of Blackberry Drive
LATE LATE LATE Sighting for which I think is still classed as Low Hall NR

Just off the LNR today, at Low Hall Colliery reclamation, 12 Meadow Pipit and 6 Snipe on the field near the prison, 1 Goldcrest, 35 Fieldfare flew south and a Siskin calling overhead
