Arrived at about 8.30am and as soon as I got off the bus by the water treatment works I saw 33 lapwings flying around over the reservoir. After about 10 minutes they headed towards Blackrod. From Dryfield Lane I saw a Pied wagtail, 2 Fieldfares & a Redwing in adjoining trees, and a Buzzard flying in from the direction of Rivington Pike. Two Great Spotted Woodpeckers & a Mistle Thrush in Lever Park but little else. Reservoir birds :- 4 Cormorants, 35 Mallards, 130+ Black-headed Gulls, 1 Lesser black-backed Gull, 1 Common Gull.
3 cormorants along with a cormorant sized gull with very pale mantle all on float outside boathouse. Could not get leg or bill colour, so hopefully will stick around for someone less feckless to ID.
