Cheers Sid.As I work in St Helens and am in town most dinnertimes I'll keep my eyes peeled.
Last week watched a Magpie building a nest roof in a tree next to the garage on College Street and there was a Wood Pigeon sat on a nest in a bare tree outside the Main Post Office!!
Neil, yes the parish church is just down from M&S. From Judith's original message the nest box has been placed in the turret with anticipated good views from the car park side however should the Peregrines take up residence the location will become fairly obvious I imagine
A nestbox for Peregrines was erected today on the turret of the parish Church of St Helen, in the town centre today, as compensation for the gasholder site which is shortly to be demolished. Doubtful if they will take it up until the gasholder actually goes - to be netted off this week. There should be good views from the roof of St Mary's multistorey car park, if they do colonise.
Judith I shall watch for developments on my frequent trips to St Helens
Sid - Get off my patch!
The wife will wonder why I am now more willing to go into St Helens town centre to shop with her ...... fingers crossed

An less than interesting shopping trip to St Helens town centre this afternoon livened up by the local female Peregrine visiting the the Starling flock on the tech college roof
We went over to St Helens, my wife's home town today to visit family. Had the chance to wander around Taylor Park for half an hour or so. Pleasantly surprised to see how healthy the boating lake is looking - haven't been there for years. They seem to have an aeration system similar to Salford Quays and the water looked really well. Birds present 4 Great Crested Grebe, Coots with chicks, plenty of Mallard and 3 Common Tern, 2 Lesser Black backed Gulls.
PS Anyone know how this "aeration" system works - it looks as if water is being recirculated?
