A 14 mile cycling/birding trip today was worth it as I found a Stonechat near Delph, the bird is at the junction of Heights Lane & Stoney Lane in the juncus marsh & bulrushes

First Willow Warbler heard and seen on 9th, a few more today.
Unusual to hear Willow Warbler before Chiffchaff. Haveany other sites experienced this in 2009?

Delph 4th April

1 white wagtail on river
15 nests in crossroads rookery

2 ringed Dippers battling it out at Delph bridge - male from Delph and one from Slackcote judging by photos. Delph female flew past whilst this was all going on.

Oystercatcher flying over at midnight (heard from house not walking back from pub!)
