A great walk over Belmont towards Darwen this afternoon. Plenty of displaying Lapwing and Curlew love watching these birds at this time of year. A few Golden Plover in with the Lapwings. Single soaring Raven giving great close up views. Meadow Pipits, Skylark and Stonechat and a Kestrel. The BH Gull colony on the reservoir is impressive.
Shame to see the small plantation next to the sailing club entrance is being chopped down! I don't know the reason for this but surely the start of the breeding season is the WRONG time. It's normally full of birds and i saw Spotted Flycatcher here last year.
