I would think you should just leave them up,you can buy artificial nests so presumably they'll re-use the old nests.

can some one put me right . Do I take down last years house martins nest (2) so they can build new or leave them up with the old nest in? Need to fit a shelf to catch the droppings as they have caused a lot of damage to the timbers on the front of the house
