I've not seen this before Phil but the harsh weather seems to be forcing many resident birds to explore new food items. Mallards can often be seen diving under water for oak acorns in the autumn.

Was at Pennington the other afternoon and saw a Mallard eating Rosehip buds is this normal?Only 1 but was giving them a good chew!
