9 this morning: popped into Elnup woods from the upstream end (down the steep track) and flushed a little egret! Flew off and landed 50 yards downstream where we watched it for 5 mins. It then flew off north, ove the cottages near the coal wagon. Also, had plenty good sightings of peregrine this winter in area around Standish Hall Farm and The Hermitage. Will take another look later today.

In recent years we have had odd Fieldfares in early May in the Rochdale area, but young Mistle Thrushes, if not seen well, can be amazingly like them.

It is getting a bit late for them - last time I saw one so late it was at the east coast.

Flock of about 25-30 Fieldfare (yep Fieldfare) right on what I think is the GM Border near the Cinamon Indian restaurant on Preston Road between Standish and Coppull.

They definitely flew into GM if they werent quite there to start with.
