Nothing really to add to yesterday's sightings really other then a Water Rail and 5 Gadwall which were on the flood at Abbey Lane and quickly departed as I got closer. All 5 flew off towards Bickershaw Rucks, probably to Diggle Flash.

Plenty of the usual species Blue and Great tits, Robin and Blackbird, Woodpigeon and Magpie. 3 Wren 4 Reed Bunting 3 Greenfinch 7 Chaffinch 30+ Goldfinch 3 Redpoll 9 Redwing 2 Meadow Pipit 1 Skylark 1 Female Sparrowhawk 1 Male Kestrel 3 Mistle Thrush 1 Song Thrush, Singing 5 Tufted Duck 2 Great Crested Grebe 9 Pied Wagtail
Last morning mooch before I go back to work next week,
1 Male Stonechat 1 Fieldfare 7 Redwing 2 Meadow Pipit 3 Reed Bunting 1 Goldcrest 5 Blue tit 4 Great tit 5 Blackbird 2 Robin Mixed Finch flock in Alders mainly Goldfinch and Chaffinch but managed 2 Redpoll and 3 Greenfinch in there as well. 7 Pied Wagtail There's now 6 Tufted Duck on the flood with a single Great Crested Grebe.
1 Stonechat, Abbey Lane 5 Bullfinch, All in trees along the line 4 Redwing, First birds for a few week Mixed Finch flock in Alders of Redpoll, Siskin, Chaffinch and Goldfinch 1 Jay 2 Reed Bunting 1 Great Crested Grebe on flood, As was 4 Tufted Duck still 9 Pied Wagtail, All around horses at Abbey Lane 1 Song Thrush 1 Snipe, Flushed
11:00 till 13:00. Abbey Lane then over to Pickley Green.
3 Stonechat, 2 again seen at Abbey lane this lunchtime, the other at Pickley green. 3 Greenfinch 4 Bullfinch 11 Redpoll, All in Alders around Melrose Ave football pitch. 40+ Goldfinch 2 Kestrel, 1 At Abbey Lane, 1 Eastern end of Pickley Green 1 Buzzard 3 Reed Bunting 2 Mistle Thrush 1 Goldcrest 4 Tufted Duck on Flood
Oddly I have not seen a single Redwing or Fieldfare for the last few visits.
Had a walk over to the North Eastern side, were they have been working for the last few weeks and it looks like they are trying to build some sort of reedbed area quite similar to what they've done at Bickershaw rucks in C4.

Couple of hours walk round with my son this afternoon. Noticed very few berries on trees, however a few Blackbirds were feeding, later on saw a single Redwing feeding on berries.
No sign of yesterday's Whinchat 1 Nuthatch, Don't normally see these around this site 1 Green Woodpecker 2 Whitethroat 3 Skylark 1 Kestrel 2 Meadow Pipit
1 Whitethroat, Cracking views 3 Skylark 2 Meadow Pipit, Numbers definitely down this year 2 Blackcap 1 Willow Warbler 3 Chiffchaff 2 Linnet, (Pair) Swift, Swallow and House Martin in small numbers
