Short spell by canal at Wigan pier, peregrine on trencherfield mill, sparrowhawk flew nearby the peregrine and decided against landing, approx 400 pigeon on nearby rooftop adjoining the pizza place, which most likely explains the raptors choice of location, the birds i mean ....?.not the pizza ..
Raven seen taking a twig into last year's nest site
At least a month early but with the demolition of the market hall could be better for them.
The old nest from 2yr back and over 6years old breeding every year as been removed but the new nest site will be hard to access but knowing this council they will try no doubt on that as they want this construction to start on time.
They might say they care for nature but money talks.
So if anyone is in the town centre in the next few months will you please keep an eye on the old morrisons building to see if there is any underhand work going on in this area.
Thank you Jimmy

This morning Ravens creating a bit of a quandary as a young bird had come down from the nest area and had 3 security men keeping a eye one it as they was worried that it might attack someone.
One of the adults was on top of a nearby building keeping a watchful eye on the youngster when I had to leave the young bird was stood on roof of the mobile fish van with now 4 security guards watching it's every move.
Whilst opening the front door of my workplace, watched a Hobby skim the top of Swinley Labour club and dash down towards the dam area bottom Coppull Lane. Beat that to the start of your days work !!
2 pair of goldfinch on nests on a busy main street in town centre area today i for one didn't think they nested so early and also for them to nest in such busy area's !
