Grey Wagtail pair collecting insects down below the old mill site Jay 2 foraging around the mill site Nuthatch calling Jackdaws and House Sparrow in good numbers up on Dean Terrace Good numbers of Blackcap, Chiffchaff and Robin in the woodland between the river Medlock and the road to Ashton Road, including several young Robins and one Blackcap singing within a few feet of the road.
Walking past the visitors centre at Park Bridge this morning I could hear a loud tapping noise on what sounded like a window. I located the source which came from a Carrion Crow pecking repeatedly, loudly and forcefully at the rear window (presumably at its own reflection? ) of a Toyota MPV parked in the public cark park! Surprised it didn't set the car alarm off!!
Also in the general area - Kestrel, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Dipper, 5 Redwing and c30 Siskin feeding on birch.
Cheers,
Bill.
