Three Sisters is near Ashton in Makerfield. If you search three sisters road on google maps you should see the reserve entrance. It's a nice site once you get away from the kids play areas.

The Group will be planting 300 whips this year =130 Blackthorn .130 Hawthorn 10 Rowan 10 wild cherry 10 crab apple 10 dog wood = big tree event on 25 th nov and 2nd dec Tony Friends Group
spent a pleasant hour in the feeding station during heavy rain, loads of great and blue tit, willow tit, coal tit, chaffinch, dunnock, blackbird, jay, magpie, wood pigeon, nuthatch, great spotted woodpecker and a moorhen that thought it was a woodpecker kept going up a tree/bush at the back of the area and pecking at the bark woodpecker style also climbed onto one of the caged feeding tables and had itself a feast.
Afternoon visit, On the wetland section 1 Jay 1 Moorhen 1 Flock mixed tits
Feeding station, the usual selection of birds, but it,s back up and busythe feeders have been hung much closer to the screen and a table just 3 foot( or 1 metre if you like)from the screen allowing some cracking views.
Afternoon mooch on the wetland section of this site,
1 Coot 3 Moorhen 20 Swallow 1 Mallard 1 Brand spanking new hide, all steel construction anti vandal paint, the dogs wotsits, a cracking addition to this maturing site.but all locked up access details to follow
Quick peek at 11ish. much to my delight the Coots still have all 6 chicks and are busy building a new nest only 12 foot from the footpath one of the chicks was seen to helping with the construction even though it,s still in 'down' spiffing stuff.
