RE: weaste cemetrey

re daves comment on security etc,the general area isn,t a tourist spot which i forgot to mention so please only go when i report a rarity turning up (soon i hope). i use buile hill, weaste, and fairbrother st to amuse myself birding before work, but am constantly surprised at the wildlife thriving amongst the city dwellers,

Hi Geoff

Weaste Cemetrey is Ok for a visit early morning as the local nutters are still in the land of nod ,but later on in the day leaving your car for longer than 5 minutes is a bit risky as I found out to my cost last April.

urban birding,love it,7.00 8.00 13/09/07
lots of garden birds and i,ve only counted what i,ve seen so the population must be much higher

20 woodpigeons 3 mistle thrush

1 greatspotted 2 jays (new to my salford list)biggrin.gif
1 sparrowhawk
12 magpie
4 robin
2 crows
20 longtailed tits
10 great tits
15 blue tits
nothing special but the sparrowhawk gets chased all round the place by magpies then the tit flock(no rest for the wicked)then the magpies etc.

cheers geoffbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif
