Lots of house sparrows having a chirpfest in the hawthorne hedge at brimelows farm.must be 100 plus with this years fledglings. Also on the farm pond 4 newly hatched moorhens.2 following parent bird but the 2 others following seperate juveniles who are feeding them.i dont know if this is normal but i have seen it before on this pond.
This AM 4 Buzzards 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers 1 Kestrel 2 Mistle Thrush Raven over could be one of the town centre birds as it was heading that way ? 4 Bulfinch 6 Greenfinch
Sad to say no sight or sound of Willow Tits again which is worrying; On black hills another site that used to be good for Snipe and Jack Snipe looks to be another place that that as bit the dust due to off roading vehicles ?.
This AM Gidlow Cemetary Flock of Redwings presume to be roosting at Wigan Rd end approx 60 some singing which at first I didn't recognise as I have only heard once before. 2 Mistle Thrush 2 Song Thrush 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers 6 Bullfinch 7 Goldcrest

Walk round Gidlow Cemetery 8:30:10:00 Spotted Flycatcher nr pond, 2 Buzzards Nuihatch Great Spotted Woodpecker 4 Bullfinch 40+House Martins over Barrett Estate Chiffchaff singing Lots of birds heard but due to dodgy eyesight couldn't see SIGH.

The Starlings broods around here have all near enough fledged on the same morning as the parents were still feeding them in there nests yesterday which is amazing as they seem to be everywhere.
tues 6 nov gidlow coal rucks 2 snipe 16 meadow pipits giants hall 6 goldfinch 16 blackbirds seems to be a lot of blackbirds about this autumn dont know whether they are migrants or just had a good breeding season jimmy
dont know if theybreed round there i know they used to breed in taylor pit wood only went to see if the snipe where back when lo and behold the bird flew out of the reeds also might have found a better place for wintering jack snipe
