picked up a greenfinch today which i must admit ive struggled to get lately.Four bullfinch and all the usual tits on the feeders. A stange looking duck was on the main lake which was shown on the notice board as a carolna wood duck. Not much else about it was a bit of a struggle today.
First stop the visitor centre at msw which wasnt open when i arrived. 9.30open for info but a great spot to watch and hear reed warblers, which never seem to shut up (must have been females) Got some good advice from one of the wardens and went to the hide at the back of the visitor centre which by the way has a great picnic area and excellent coffee machine 10bob.Lovely weather and plenty reed bunting and reed warblers just infront of hide.This is a great place to watch kingfishers saw 3,recommend a visit to anyone.other birds of note Buzzerd,great spotted woodpecker,jay with a frog in its mouth,great and little grebe,gadwal,shoveller,lapwing and all the usual woodland birds.
