Astley and Chat moss 24/02 12.30 -5 pm

30+ Yellowhammers
40+ Redwings
15 Tree Sparrows
2 Grey Partridge
2 Skylarks  in fields 67/68 between pathway off Rindle road.

Astley peat works was very quite just 2 Snipe and 1 very scruffy looking fox.

Walking into Botany Bay woods turned up 4 Woodcock, 6 Snipe ,10 Pheasant, 6 Goldcrests and 1 Tawny owl roosting in a small fir tree.

Croxden peat works was also quiet only 2 Kestrels and 40+ woodpigeon.

Lots of Yellowhammers,Gold/Green finches,Blue and Great tits along 12 Yards road next to fields 14/15. 1 Raven flying North over field 52.

If you are walking keep a lookout for a very large Rotweiler near New farm on Astley road , an ugly looking brute but he probably thought the same about me .Good thing he kept his distance.

Finally 2 singing Skylarks in field 69 rounded off a good afternoons walk.
