Ian, here is the news `second hand`. Barry Hulme and John Lyon first picked it up off the end of the spit at 10.00 with 5 Goldeneye, which they think had just flown in. The Smew then swam off on it`s own towards Rammys inlet and was lost to sight. I arrived at 11ish but we couldn`t relocate it. I had to leave at 12.30 for work.
Apparently there is a Smew (redhead) at Pennington Flash today, although having received the news atleast 3rd hand, I have no idea where abouts. More to come from others with better 'gen' hopefully
