I was there around 8ish, and the resident Greylag was feeding on the grass at the side of the carpark, But the neck collard bird was on the lake with another Greylag.
I was there at dinnertime, did see what I assumed was the resident greylag but none wearing a neck collar, unless I overlooked it. Also present was 1 male Goosander. 1 Herring Gull, first time I have seen at Crompton Lodges 1 Kingfisher on Croal At Croal Irwell confluence 3 m Goldeneye with 1 tufted duck, 3 Little Grebe, 2 male Goosander
Early this morning at Crompton Lodges I observed a Greylag goose on the main lake with an orange neck collar on. I think the letters where in black, unfortunately the bird was in the middle of the lake and I didn't have my scope. I Will go back tomorrow and see if I can see it.
As for where it has come from, I have had a look on the Internet and there is a project in Yorkshire who are neck collaring Greylags.
I would be interested to know if anyone else has observed this individual?
