3.15--3.45

2 Coot and youngsters on the water and the opposite bank.

1 Little Grebe

1 Moorhen

3 Mallard at least on the grass from the first gates.

2 Swan and 4 Cygnets in the same place.

There is nearly too much foliage for me to see over the wall now, and there might have been another 2 adult Coot. I might have to give it a miss till Autumn.cry

Nothing on the river.

12.45-13.15

7/8 Mallard on the grass from the first locked gate

1 Coot on the water, and 1 plus 5/6 growing youngsters on the far bank

2 Swan and 4 large cygnets on the water

Moorhen heard, but not seen

River

1 female Mallard with 3 very young

3 young Mandarin

1.15-2pm

1 or possibly 2 Grey Heron. one flew off, but might have landed a few yards away.

2 Mallard(pair)

1 Little Grebe

2 Swan with 4 growing cygnets

2 Coot with 4 young, but a passer bye said they saw 

No sign of the Moorhen and chicks.

2 Dipper on the river

1.15pm  Not much doing

1 Coot with 6 young

2 Moorhen with 2 young - on the grass visible from the first gates.

1 Grey Heron

No site of the Swans and young - presume on the smaller pond which you cannot see from the gate, due to vegetation.

Nothing on the river, which is rising and fast flowing.

4 Coot one on the small pond, one possibly nest building at the dovecote island. However two broods of chicks. 

6 very small around the cover of the dovecote, and 4 quite large at the clock end, under the trees at the bank.

2 Mallard on the river.

Not much doing

5 Coot, 1 on the small pond. the nest was empty, but no sign of any youngsters, perhaps hidden

2 Swans and 4 cygnets also on the small pond.

Late post for yesterday, went to check on the young swans.

2 Swan feeding 4 young

1 Coot and 1 on the nest.

2 Dippers on the river, one looked like a youngster.

Jackdaws in and out of the Dovecote nests

2 Swan. 1 on the water, and the other on the nest, but not on the eggs, which seem to have rolled slightly away. Not looking good.

3 Mallard, 2 on the river

3 Coot, 1 on the nest 

2/3 Moorhen

1 Song Thrush on the bank of the smaller pond.

1 Drake Mandarin Duck

10.30 today - 2 little grebes plus coots, moorhens and mallards.

12.30 no grebes but an immature swan, a cormorant and a male wigeon
