It seems the underlying theme is to move decision-making about environmental concerns in a planning application from local councils to central legislation. To me, that has advantages, but far outnumbered by the many flaws
Hi all, the link is below for the planning reform working paper proposed by Labour.
Not full details are given but this could affect biodiversity and change the way in which ecological assessments are done in the planning system. It sets out a strategic approach to assessing protected species like DLL for newts. Particularly concerning is the way it mentions not having to do baseline assessments or mitigation.
I think this warrants a response from as many of us as possible.
