Its Festival Time! As the country prepares for Glasto, here in the North we are preparing for the Manchester Festival Of Nature on Saturday 29th June in Heaton Park, a new event celebrating the nature of Greater Manchester.
You are making a beeline for the festival, so its time to think about transport! Are you getting the buzz ? Or are you getting the Bee Tram ?
There are several walks at the festival, so if you are planning to look for wildlife, bring your binoculars and perhaps also your camera. Note also that you can get a boat on the lake in Heaton Park for £8:50 - for 45 minutes for a maximum of 4 people and you can get closer to some of the birdlife on the lake this way!
What to wear? For this festival there is only one thing to BEE seen in and thats a bee costume! You can get your costume together prior to the festival and there are also people on-site on the day in Heaton Park to help you with your costume and face-paint! If the weather is Scorchio sunglasses and sun-hat are essentials and the sun-glasses double up as a great start for your bee costume!
The big buzz moment at the Manchester Festival Of Nature is the Bee Parade around the park at 2pm. Everyone who is dressed as a bee is buzzing together in a carnival-style through the park as we attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the number of people dressed as bees.
This festival is a pioneering event to celebrate the amazing wildlife and environment on our doorstep here in Greater Manchester, especially the bees that are so important to our ecosystem - so lets get buzzing!
Manchester has had many big events over the years, but this festival is THE most buzzing festival youll ever have been to guaranteed ! A bee themed Guinness World Record attempt is happening the organisers are aiming to get around 3,000 people dressed up as bees together in the park to highlight the importance of these amazing creatures ! So get your bee costume sorted and join the swarm of human bees on 29th June !
