A very early start to drive down to Corsham for a look at the Hooded Merganser with Adam Jones. Easy drive in good weather which led to concerns starting as we neared the site and I began thinking if this is real and it was a clear night it might have gone. Car park found and a black sports car was reversing to leave, Phil Owen. Not met for quite some time so good to catch up. He had been there since first light and confirmed my fear, it had gone. No need to worry or think about its provenance now as I haven't seen it!!!!
