Three ravens turned up in the paddock halfway up the lane at 5pm this afternoon, to the disgust of the local jackdaws, crows and sheep! Ravens were displaying in flight and landed on the grass before being seen off by the locals. Made a fantastic racket while they were around. The local great spotted woodpecker was drumming away this morning but the best moment was spotting a house sparrow nesting in our hedge until last month we'd had more lesser spotted woodpeckers in the garden (one) than sparrows (zero).
