tony i dont blame you for declining on the bread idea, the carp would not get a sniff in
lots more bream on the surface off the canal/irwell this evening, but could not see how many (still plenty off them) as they were in the middle. surfacing & feeding this time which was nice to watch. also peacock butterflies around.
Yes Steve, probably Carp. I'll decline the bread idea, the ducks, geese and gulls round there are pretty quick off the blocks when there's a whiff of white sliced in the air; any fish would be obscured by an inundation of avian bread addicts.
Steve, There were quite a few large dark fish basking just above and below the surface at CWP on Sunday; are they likely to be Bream also?
possibly could have been tony, but i would guess they could more likely to off been carp as i have often seen them there basking on the surface on a hot sunny day. next time you go (if its hot) take some bread with you,try get a closer look
cycling past pomona tram stop & noticed a lot off dark figures in the canal/river on closer inspection a large shoal off bream good sizes maybe 3-5lbs easily, lost count after 100. a fishermans nightmare when there just basking on top, would off made me jealous many years ago
