There is a protest march tomorrow, the 13th May, over this rediculous North Leigh Development Park which threatens to destroy so much fine wildlife habitat. Please offer your support if you are available, it could very well be your local birding site next and we really need to pull together to prevent the continued destruction of our green spaces.
The march will take place at the Electrium site on Leigh Road at 12 noon. Everyone is welcome.
With this first meeting done and dusted there will be a rally outside Leigh Town Hall (Library Square) on the 15th October from 11-1pm to demonstrate against this ridiculous proposed development. The more there the merrier!
A further meeting will then take place on the 7th November at 7pm at Leigh Miners RUFC again.

Yet another pointless developement threatens to destroy more of our green spaces and in this particular instance some very important wildlife habitat and wildlife corridor.
The proposed 'North Leigh' development will consist of a new road (to run alongside a perfectly good old one), an industrial estate (to go along with all the others in the area which lie empty) and other such nonsence running from Hindley Green through Pickley Green and continuing to the Atherleigh Way.
Full details will be revealed shortly but for the moment there is a meeting about the proposals at Leigh Miners rugby club on Twist Lane, Leigh at 7pm on Monday 26th September. It is open to anyone and if you're in the area please make the effort to go along.
