RE: Leucistic Crow near Heywood

Welcome to the forum Janet - if you look in the gallery section: Homepage, Photograph and Artwork Galleries, WARBLERS, FLYCATCHERS, TITS AND CORVIDS, ALL PHOTOS FROM 1st JUNE 2008 TO 20th APRIL 2010 and look near the bottom for a shot dated 6/3/10 you'll see a very light brown crow I saw and photographed near Bolton - does that look like your bird at all? I was fascinated to see that one and understand there is a history of odd coloured crows in the general area.

Hi

I have regular visits from an unusual bird. It appears in my garden and in the trees that line the East Lancs railway line near Schofield Street. After searching the internet I think it is a leucistic crow. It is quite a large bird with very pale grey/brown plumage and darker coloured beak and legs. I've heard it and it does sound like a crow.
